ABOUT THE COMPANY AND THE SHOES
Can you explain what’s a Goodyear welt construction?
Goodyear welt construction, recognized for enhancing durability, comfort, and resole capability, involves key steps:
1. Stitching:
- The upper is stitched to a welt along the outsole perimeter.
2. Welt attachment:
- The welt is stitched to both the upper and insole, creating a cavity.
3. Cork filling:
- The cavity is filled with cork, molding to the foot over time for added comfort.
4. Outsole attachment:
- The outsole is stitched to the welt, ensuring a secure double-stitched attachment.
Advantages:
- Durability: High-quality materials and stitching create enduring shoes.
- Resoleability: Easy resoling, with the stitched outsole replaceable without affecting the upper.
- Weather Resistance: Combined with quality materials, the construction offers water resistance.
- Comfort: The cork filling customizes to the foot for a comfortable fit.
- Classic Aesthetics: Goodyear welted shoes boast a timeless, elegant appearance. While demanding superior craftsmanship, resulting in a higher cost, the investment pays off with extended shoe life and quality maintenance through resoling.
Where are your shoes made?
Our shoes are crafted in a top-notch, family-owned workshop in Mexico.
Do your shoes incorporate high-quality leathers and materials?
Certainly, there's no point in using inexpensive and subpar materials in Goodyear-welted shoes, as it contradicts the entire concept of having a pair that lasts for years. Unfortunately, the market is saturated with companies advertising premium materials and top-notch leather, yet rarely do they disclose the sources of these materials. Unlike them, we maintain an exceptionally high standard for the quality of materials used in crafting our shoes, ensuring access to the finest leathers and soles money can buy. Our selection includes leathers from renowned sources like Horween, Ilcea, Tannerie D'Annonay, Haas, Charles F. Stead, or S.B. Foot. Additionally, our soles are sourced from reputable names such as Vibram, Dainite, Itshide, Lactae Hevea, or J. Rendenbach.
How do you maintain affordable prices?
Primarily, we adopt a direct-to-consumer approach with an almost nonexistent marketing budget, coupled with cost-effective labor practices where applicable. Unlike many direct-to-consumer brands that present oversimplified graphs claiming to "offer a $700 product for $200," they often neglect to mention critical factors. One significant distinction is that these products are not directly comparable, as one is likely manufactured in Europe or the USA with considerably higher labor costs, while the other may be produced in a factory in Latin America or Asia, possibly even in sweatshops. The former is likely to feature top-notch materials, whereas the latter may not. Both, however, often include marketing expenses in the final price. Here's where we make a difference – we prioritize delivering exceptional leathers and outstanding soles in your shoes instead of giving your money to Google, Meta, or influencers.
What is MTO (Made to Order) footwear?
Made to Order (MTO) footwear is a personalized manufacturing approach where shoes are crafted according to an individual's preferences. Unlike ready-made shoes, MTO shoes are uniquely designed based on the customer's chosen specifications, allowing for a distinct and personalized pair tailored to the customer's style.
Why don't you run as many sales as other companies?
Our business focuses on providing high-quality shoes at fair prices. Unlike some companies that frequently run sales, we prioritize maintaining consistently fair prices. Regular discounts or frequent sales could compromise the quality we strive to uphold. The closest to a promo is the pay 2 get 3 pairs.
PLACING AN ORDER
Do I need a PayPal account?
No, you can also pay with all major credit cards.
How does the pay 2 get 3 deal work?
Select any three items from our collection, including made-to-order footwear and sample sale shoes. We cover the cost of the lowest-priced item, and you'll be billed for the two most valuable items. Please be aware that our profit margins are under strain with this promotion, limiting our ability to accept returns or exchanges unless we are clearly at fault. All three items will be shipped together in a single shipment for your convenience. You can find more details here.
Can you walk me through the Made to Order footwear process?
Here is a comprehensive guide to the MTO process. In essence, browse the leather catalog, choose your desired leather, and customize the footwear on the leather page by selecting size, width, style, construction, and sole.
Can additional customizations be made to my MTO footwear?
Some customizations are possible, such as the color of the sole, eyelets, or speed hooks. However, changes that alter preexisting patterns, like boot shaft height or eyelet placement, might not be feasible. You can add these customizations in the "order comments" text box during the final checkout step.
What size should I buy?
Our shoes are true to size, so we recommend purchasing your regular size. If unsure, contact us, and we'll gladly assist you in finding the best-fitting size.
AFTER PLACING AN ORDER
How do I take care of my shoes?
Ensure you use shoe trees after each wear, periodically polish them for shine and patina development, and apply leather conditioner when the leather feels dry.
How do shipping and returns work?
We offer worldwide shipping, including free shipping for orders in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Note that items from the sample sale or pay 2 get 3 promotion cannot be returned. Regular-priced, unworn items in pristine condition can be returned to our USA warehouse for a refund or exchange.
How long will my order take to arrive?
