Probably more like a 4.5 but for the price the value is off the charts. Color is gorgeous, construction is fantastic. I bought 3 pairs during the black Friday sale and all fit a little different. These fit the largest. There is also a not of stitching that was a bit off. However after wearing these a couple days a week for a couple months, I don't even notice. Pretty sure I will have and wear these for years.

I am really happy with my shoes. The color, the leather, the comfort. I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

Having never purchased a pair of welted shoes, I am unable to compare these shoes to a pair from AE or Alden. However, these shoes fit almost perfectly to my feet, and the leather is glove soft. I wholeheartedly recommend John Doe to anyone who may have reservations to buying a shoe online.

Quality appears good for the price, but shoes are so tight in the instep they're painful and I can't even tie the shoelaces on the left shoe. I have average size feet, by the way. They'll be going back.

As others have said these shoes are a great value. The materials are first rate and the craftsmanship excellent.. The styling is a bit more casual than other higher end makers like AE but perfectly acceptable for day to day business use. Shipping was reasonable as far as delivery time from Mexico. Packaging took a beating, but shoes were fine. All in all a great deal, and certainly better than any $160 shoe out there.

The shoes arrived in a rather beat up box, but were absolutely fine. Besides some very minor cosmetic defects, the shoes are absolutely wonderful! The leather is of high quality and welted soles are executed perfectly. The color is deep and rich to provide a stunning look with any combination of slacks. You will not find a shoe of this quality at this price point anywhere else.
